History of
NDC In order to improve the depository system and regulation of its activity, by the Degree of the President of the Azerbaijan Republic form May 14-th 1997, the regulations "On the National Depository System" and "On the Rules on leading of the shareholder's registry of the joint-stock companies created during the privatization of the state firms and specialized check investment funds" were approved. By the regulation on "National Depository System" the creation of the National Depository Center was stipulated. On the 18-th of September, 1997 The National Depository Center was created. The National Property Committee was acting as a holder and founder of the block of shares of the National Depository Center. The shares of NDC were handed over to the State Committee for Securities after its creation. As a result NDC was anew founded by the State Committee for Securities on the 8-th of September 1999 and passed the national registration on September 17-th 1999. The National Depository Center has a license on depository and registrational activity given by the State Committee for Securities under auspices of the President of the Azerbaijan Republic. According to all above-mentioned regulations the National Depository Center is the state organization, which plays the main role in National Depository System, natural engaging the depository activity and carrying the record of depositories, that are included in depository system and making of its activity.
International
cooperations of NDC In 2000 NDC officials took part in the seminar carried out by Takasbank (Turkey). In 2001 NDC was presented on the I International seminar of depositories of Asia region and CIS countries called "Integration of Depository Systems - the base of effective interaction on international market of securities", which took place in Tashkent. In 2002 in order to develop and improve the corresponding relations the National Depository Center of Azerbaijan Republic and Uzbekisanian`s "Vakt" National Depository carried out a memorandum. In 2002 NDC officials took part in international seminar with all the organizations, carried out by depositories of Kyrgizstan, Kazakhstan and the Republic of Korea. The National Depository Center is seeking the development of friendly and corresponding relations with all the organizations that are interested.
