The National Depository Center of the Azerbaijan Republic began its activity on 18-th of September 1997 as a closed joint-stock company.
In 1999, after the beginning of activity of The State Committee for Securities under auspices of the President of the Azerbaijan Republic, The National Depository Center was anew founded on September 8,1999. Since that date the State Committee for Securities represents itself as the holder and founder of the block of shares of NDC.
The basic activity of the National Depository Center is rendering of all depository and registration services, including registration of property rights for the securities, holding and leading of the registries of joint-stock companies.
Since December 22, 2004, t he NDC was included into the Eurasia Central Depositaries Association cofounders staff and became its full participant.
On November 17, 2006 the NDC was determined as the National Numbering Agency and concluded the contract on global partnership with Association of National Numbering Agencies (ANNA).
